                                             POWER QUALITY SYSTEM

It is understood today that 80% of the power quality problems and transient voltage activity are created by the equipment inside your own facility.
A custom designed power quality system conditions the power provided to your building and equipment.
Clean efficient power means everything runs cooler and more efficiently.
When everything runs cooler and more efficiently your equipment uses less electricity and saves on maintenance, repair, extends equipment life and prevents down time.
Energy savings and reduction of maintenance cost can add thousands of dollars to your bottom line profits.
1. Guaranteed energy savings = added profits
2. Reduced equipment maintenance, repair and replacement by       as much as 30% to 50 % = added profits
3. Protect your facility and equipment against catastrophic loss.
4. Extend life of equipment.
When we equip your facility with a custom designed power quality system you will leave a smaller greener footprint.

A custom designed power quality system consist of various components working together to clean and optimize your electrical system. This system can be enhanced with additional energy saving equipment such as power factor correction.
A power quality system will create a cleaner more efficient environment for all of your electrical appliances and machinery.
This environment enables your entire facility to run more efficiently and use less electricity and save on repair and replacement cost. ( extends the life of the equipment )
The amount of electrical saving will depend on the total components installed and the age of the equipment.
The experts at Energy Management Group will survey your facility and custom design a power quality system for you specific needs. We will be able to provide you with options of coverage and percentage of savings on energy (KWH ) and savings in dollars on maintenance, repair and replacement.

The system must protect against interference from the outside. Lightning, utility switching, neighboring business causing interruption.
Almost all transient voltage surges are created by equipment inside the building. Every time anything turns on or off or cycles the voltage pressure creates a surge. Transient surges are not limited to motors. Lighting ballast or even touching a computer key creates surges. The transient voltages can take place thousands of times a day and can be many hundreds of volts, creating heat and resistance which fatigues equipment making it work harder and in turn use excessive power and shorting equipment life.
Motors running, lighting ballast, capacitors, frequency drives, anything that runs on electricity has the potential to create harmonics. These damaging harmonics must be filtered from your system and re-aligned into useful power or shunted to ground.
Code requires at least two methods of grounding, usually one is to building steel or the water main and a ground to earth. Building steel and water mains are good equipment grounds but do little to get surges out of the building. Ground to earth is the only way to effectively get surges out and away from the building. 85% of the businesses we work with have poor ground to earth systems. Code calls for 25 ohms or less resistance on the ground. We commonly find resistance way above the mark ( sometimes in the 100’s of ohms. ) We improve the grounding system to exceed the code performance requirements.
This device returns wasted unused energy to proper phase and polarity on the neutral side, thus decreasing the overall demand with the system.
The capacitors used in these devices not only enhance the power factor, therefore the motor runs cooler and more efficient, but these also re-use the non working power created within the motor over and over again thus reducing the amperage requirement of your system and saves you KWH’s.

What is the Section 179 Deduction??
Most people think the Section 179 Deduction is some arcane or complicated tax code. It really isn't, as the following will show you.

Essentially, Section 179 of the IRS tax code allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment purchased or financed during the tax year. That means that if you buy (or lease) a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the FULL PURCHASE PRICE from your gross income. It's an incentive created by the U.S. Government to encourage businesses to buy equipment and invest in themselves. It is sometimes referred to as the "SUV Tax Loophole" or the "Hummer Deduction" because many businesses have used this tax code to purchase qualifying vehicles (like SUV's and Hummers.)

Essentially, Section 179 works like this:
When your business buys certain pieces of equipment, it typically gets to write them off a little at a time through depreciation. In other words, if your company spends $50,000 on a vehicle, it gets to write off (say) $10,000 a year for five years (these numbers are only meant to give you an example.)

Now, while it's true that this is better than no write off at all, most business owners would really prefer to write off the entire equipment purchase price for the year they buy it.

In fact, if a business could write off the entire amount, they might add more equipment this year instead of waiting. That's the whole purpose behind Section 179.
